Although many entrepreneurs enjoy success with their online business there are also a number who fail. One of the main reasons why people fail online is that they jump in head first thinking that it is an quick way to get rich. Here are 5 factors about setting up an internet business that you may not know.
1. The company you join. The sponsor you pick. The system you use. None of that really matters. You are the X factor. You can succeed or fail in ANY company.
2. This business is a numbers game, but it's also a game of skill and strategy. The better your skills and strategy the fewer people you need to approach.
3. WHEN you join a company is even more important than the company you join. Timing is everything. Ideally, you want to join a company BEFORE it becomes a household name. That is where the BIG money is made.
4. You'll probably have to recruit 100 people to find 1 serious person, and maybe more than that.
5. The real money comes from building DEPTH in your organization, not width. Width is for show, but depth is for dough. Learn how to taproot and drive each leg hundreds of levels deep. A leg is not solid or established until you have MINIMUM 5-10 leaders in it.
6. No two leaders build their business the exact same way. Smart leaders leverage their own natural talents and abilities to build the business in a way that works for them.
7. We are a business of attrition. 80 to 90 percent of your team will quit each year, regardless of what you do to help them. Even with those types of numbers, you can still build a big team and a big residual income.
8. Customers and part-timers come and go like the common cold, but we are really looking for leaders. Leaders find customers, recruit reps, create volume, and grow your check. They also require the least amount of help.
9. Success is not about selling a product or one person doing a lot. Network marketing is about getting a LOT of people to do a few simple things consistently, for a sustained period of time.
10. It takes MINIMUM three to five YEARS of intense focus in ONE company to build a six figure residual income (in most cases). Top earners do not promote multiple deals, nor do they chase shiny objects. They focus on one company exclusively.
11. Most top leaders have been with one company for 5-10 years. They've sponsored 100+ reps personally and they make most of their income from just 1-2 people.
12. All the time you spend with weak, non-committed people is time wasted. You would be better off spending that time to recruit new people. You won't hit the next rank with the same team. Keep recruiting. Never stop recruiting personally.
13. You get paid based upon the number of people you serve and how well you serve them. The person that "serves" the most, and does it the best, makes the most (and rightfully so).
14. This is a team sport. No one succeeds by themselves. Surround yourself with ambitious, talented people. Ideally, you want people more motivated and talented than you. Whatever you do, do not be JEALOUS or ENVIOUS of someone on your team who is more successful in the business than you. If anything, be their biggest cheerleader.
15. You cannot control what anyone else does, so don't worry about it. Focus on what you do. Focus on what you can control. Set the bar so high with your own personal example so even if your team does 10 percent of what you do, you'd be happy.
16. Third party tools are the secret. Remove yourself from the equation whenever possible. Talk less. Don't do your own presentations. Instead, share videos and audios. Leverage three way calls. Even if you are an expert at these things, your prospect isn't. Plus, your prospect thinks they will have to build the business the same way you do, so keep things simple.
17. Don't be short sighted. Many of your best people will take you YEARS to recruit. Keep a database of everyone you ever talk with and stay in touch often. The average person will need minimum 7 to 20 follow ups before they buy or join.
18. Success in our industry is about long-term focus, not short-term opportunism. No company or sponsor is perfect. Pick the company you want to have your problems with and plant your flag there.
19. Use the products. Find a few customers. Teach others to do the same. That's how you build a big business.
I look forward to hearing from you. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.
