7 Tips To Avoid Failure In Online Affiliate Marketing

Online affiliate marketing is like being a commission paid sales person. Your job is to promote and sell other people's products or services online and you earn a commission from the product owner when a customer buys from you. It is one of the easiest ways to start your own internet business but here are 7 key tips to avoid failure in the affiliate marketing business.

1. Sell Products That Interest You

You will find your affiliate marketing business much easier to manage and work on if you sell products or services that genuinely interest you. An affiliate marketer who has an interest in what they're promoting will have more in common with their target audience and will be more prepared to put in the work to make their business successful.

2. Choose Your Affiliate Programs Carefully.

When you start an affiliate website, there are so many different products and services available to sell, it is difficult to know where to begin. Before you choose a product to sell via an affiliate program, be sure to check how much commission you can earn, what support you get from the product owner, how you get paid and what proof there is that the product actually sells.

3. Always Build A Customer List.

One of the key elements to success in the affiliate marketing business comes from continually building a list of prospective customers. This list is the names and email addresses of people who have voluntarily given you their permission to send them emails about your products and services.

4. Have More Than One Revenue Stream.

Don't just rely on selling one product at one price. You will have more success if you provide customers with several alternatives rather than just one. Ideally, your affiliate marketing business should have a good mix of related products that provide 3 types of revenue streams, basic one-off direct sales income, recurring income, and high ticket income.

5. Learn How To Generate Traffic.

Successful online affiliate marketing is the result of driving targeted customer traffic to your sales pages and website. There are many ways to drive and generate traffic and you need find the perfect traffic strategy to use with your within your niche to attract your prospects.

6. Build Relationships.

You need to think of your affiliate marketing business as something that 'tells' rather than 'sells'. In this way you will build trust and respect from your customers and they will be more inclined to buy from you.

7. Be Prepared To Learn From Others.

Get involved with instructional webinars and courses from industry experts and put aside a budget to invest in understanding more about the affiliate marketing business. This will help you to avoid the online stumbling blocks and accelerate your journey to success.

5 Features That Online Business Startup Should Have

The online business world is competitive so your online business startup has to catch the interest of your potential customers. There isn't a secret formula that successful online business entrepreneurs use to build a sustainable business. They just stick to a simple set of rules. Here are the 5 rules that your online business startup needs to follow so that your prospective customers will be more willing to buy from it.

1. You Provide Something Of Value For Free.

The internet is the first place that people use to find information. And a lot of information is provided totally free. But just because it is free, it doesn't mean that it is useful. It is difficult for a new online business startup to establish itself as an authority in its marketplace. That it why it is important to provide your audience with information that is not only free, but is actually useful and beneficial. This standard will indicate the quality of products, services and information that you are selling.

2. You Always Provide Value.

The better the value you provide when starting your own online business, the more people will come to trust and like you and see you as an authority within your niche. Quality content on your website helps to establish you as an authority in your industry. You will also find that people will start to trust you more and will share your website content with others, which all helps towards your search engine rankings.

3. Your Business Has A Personality.

The internet is a competitive and sometimes impersonal business environment and this can be a challenge for an online business startup. Whilst you may not be meeting all of your customers face to face, you can add your personality to your website. The best websites on the internet all have an individual feel that make them stand out from their competition. People perceive these personalities subconsciously and either they like or dislike them. Think carefully about what will appeal to your target audience. For example, is your website friendly or serious, chatty or factual?

4. You're Not Always Trying to Sell Something.

When you start an online business the temptation is to sell as much as you can as quickly as you can. However, this style of business does not create long term results. You need to build trust and respect from your potential customers and they need to see you a genuine person rather than a hard sell sales-person. Share videos or posts you think may be useful, even if they are not yours and you will be seen as the 'go to' person for information and facts about your niche. As your prospects start to trust your opinions and like your messages, they will be more likely to buy from you.

5. You Sell The Right Products To The Right Audience.

There is a well known saying in business: "If you try to sell to everybody, you'll sell to nobody". This is so true when you start an online business. Due to the sheer scale of the internet, you need to be completely clear on who your target customer is. You need to understand their likes and dislikes, their problems and their fears so that you provide products and services that suit them. If you try and sell the latest product on the market to your customer base because it's a high margin item and it's vaguely connected to your business, your customers will think that they are in the wrong place and will find another business that caters more to their needs and wants.

How Do You Make Money Online Without A Product

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a determination to succeed it is possible to make money online. When conducting business on the internet, one of the unique advantages is that you don't actually need to have your own product to start making money. By using affiliate marketing program, you can choose from a wide variety of ready made products to sell online.

Making Money Online With Affiliate Marketing.

Let's look at an example of how to make money online with affiliate marketing. Let's say that you are interested in the health and fitness market and you decide that you want to start making money online by selling a weight loss program. This could be at the start of the new year when a lot of people are looking to shed a few pounds after Christmas.

Your first step is to go to an affiliate marketplace (like ClickBank or JVZoo) and search for possible weight loss products that you can sell. These marketplaces sell digital products, which means that as soon as a customer buys them, they can download them directly to their computer to read, watch or listen to.

Making Money Online The Easy Way.

You need to carefully choose a suitable weight loss product with an eye catching sales page and statistics that prove it converts well. Check also if the product has good customer and affiliate testimonials. Once you have made your choice, you get your unique affiliate link from the product owner (sometimes called a hop-link'). This is the website URL to the product sales page that tracks all your sales back to you.

Your job is now to get potential customers to click on your unique affiliate link where they will be taken to the product sales page. This could be done by inserting the link into a blog post you have written about weight loss, placing a banner ad or pay per click ad on relevant weight loss websites or sending an email containing the link to your customer database (if you don't have one, you need to start building one!).

When someone clicks on your link to the sales page and goes on to buy the product, you will get paid an affiliate commission. This is usually anything between 50 to 80% of the price of the product.

Affiliate sales offer an amazing opportunity for making money online for both new and experienced marketers. Just about anything you can think of is available to sell through an affiliate programs. There are thousands of ebooks and courses on hundreds of different subjects, there's internet services like autoresponders, keyword tools and hosting companies, software and membership websites.

The Benefits Of Starting With Ready-Made Money Making Websites

One thing that stops people from trying to make money online is

they do not know how to make a website. In reality this is not
something you even need to know how to do. There are many
benefits you can take advantage of by starting with a ready made
site of your own.

1. For starters let's talk about how powerful it is to use a
blog as a website. You can have a WordPress blog set up for you
for around $30. If you want more features and plug-ins added to
it you will have to pay a little bit more.

However the nice thing is when you are done you have a fully
functional website that you can add content to without building
web pages yourself. If you can type you can build web pages using
the WordPress blogging platform.

This is a tremendous relief for people who are trying to make
money, but don't want build their own website. It's also very
nice as you can customize your site in various ways in the
future.

HTML coding can be intimidating, but not to people who have a
WordPress blog. Plus there are so many features with a blog that
you really can impress your website visitors.

It's very easy to add graphics for example and make a dull
boring web page come to life. You can do the same thing by
pasting in video codes from You Tube to add videos to your site.

These are all things you can do after your ready made website is
set up for you.

2. Another thing to look at is joining a program that gives you
your own customized pre built website. There are programs on the
Internet that have been around now for several years offering
what I would call a business in a box.

The nice thing is you can have a customized website with your
own domain name set up for very little out-of-pocket expense.
This is important when you do programs such as network marketing
and affiliate marketing.

Many marketers will use the replicated website that comes with
the program they have joined. This is okay, but it's not the best
way to make money.

The problem primarily lies in the fact that everyone is using
the exact same website in these types of programs. By getting
your own customized website you can differentiate yourself from
your competitors and make yourself stand out more.

These are a few money making website tips as they pertain to the
benefits of starting out with your own ready-made site. This is
definitely the way to go if you do not want to mess with building
your own website.

7 Considerations Before You Join an Internet Marketing Company

I remember my first venture into internet marketing back in 2007.  My wife (at the time) thought I was nuts.  Maybe that's why she is an ex-wife.  Anyway, that's another story for another day.

Most internet marketers join or get involved in internet marketing for one reason, to fulfill a dream.  I simply liked the idea of having a worldwide market right at my fingertips.  Don't be like me.  I jumped in full throttle.  It was fun, but a very expensive lesson.

Take your time and make important considerations, as we have outlined below.  But be careful here, don't get that dreaded disease I call "Paralysis by Analysis".  Taking action is highly significant in your success.  Important considerations include:

1.  How long has the company been in business?

Is this internet marketing company a startup, or have they been in business for several years.  If it's a startup, that's not necessarily hands off.  I know some marketers that have a 5 year rule for the company to have been in business before getting involved.  I have gotten involved with start-ups, after studying the founders, their history and background.  However, take a look at the financial soundness of the company, the projections, and the long-term development goals.

2.  Is the product of high quality?

The quality of the product is fundamental to the  company's success.  There are 2 schools of thought here.  One says, "A great product with poor managment is destined to fail".  The other says. "An average product with great management will succeed".

Here's my rule of thumb.  Do I need the product and is it beneficial to me?  Is it easy to use?  Is training others to use the product duplicatable?  If I really like the product, its easy to use, and others can learn it quickly with training, I'm more than halfway sold on that company.  My acid test for a final decision is "Would I use this product even if there was no compensation plan attached?"

3.  Who or whom is the managment team?

The ownership and management team is very important.  As a matter of fact, if you come from the Fortune 500 corporate world, its most important.  Obvious questions include management's background, experience, and company direction.

4.  What is the compensation plan?

There are several different compensation plans these days when it comes to internet marketing.  When I study these plans I have one determination in mind, and that is "Is the compensation plan fair to both full-timers who build massive teams and part-timers looking to make extra money"?  That is a question you will have to answer for yourself.

5.  Is the market global?

What is the potential reach of the company?  Is marketing strictly limited to the U.S.?  Is the company licensed to do business globally?  What countries can the company legally do business in?  As we all know, the bigger the potential market, the bigger the potential upside.

6.  Is their consistent, ongoing weekly training?

In my opinion, consistent ongoing weekly live webinar training is crucial.  After all, statistics show that approximately 90% of  new internet marketers fail within the first 90-120 days.  Why?  Lack of education and knowledge.  The internet is an education in itself.

7.  What is your budget and initial outlay?

Are you desperate for money?  If so, this is probably not the gig for you.  Don't spend your rent money in hopes of making a quick buck.  Internet marketing with a long-term approach should be your mindset.  Have a budget in mind and know your initial start-up costs.

In closing, whatever company you choose, make sure you treat it like a business, not a hobby.

Why Are Website Templates Preferred Over Custom Web Design?

Template based website systems are overtaking the requirement for a custom made personalized website. Even web designers are constantly finding ways in which to package their products and manufacture them in bulk. But what are the reasons for people buying template based websites and avoiding custom built websites? This articles aims to highlight the major factors which influence the purchase of a template based website design over a customized one.

Turn Around Time

The crux of setting up a new website is having it up and running quickly. The main objective is to put the website out and keep improving it. Most design firms take ages to put out the first version of a website. They have lengthy procedures and sometimes have long and cumbersome processes to be followed before any work can be made live. This often leads to delays and long timelines, which cause disinterest in the client and also demotivate the design team. This is remedied by ready made template based options which allow a certain level of customization to personalize the template for the clients business.

Seeing Is Believing

Just like ready made clothes, templates allow you to see a live working of the website and allow you to preview and simulate the website's functioning before you actually purchase it. This means that you can see a fully functional sample website with dummy text and images and actually visualize how it would suit your website design. While tailor-made clothes will definitely fit you better, there is always a time-lag and also a risk of the tailor getting it wrong.

Cheaper

A ready made website will definitely work out cheaper than a custom made one, especially due to its re-usability and lack of personal touch. This maybe very crucial for a business which is newly launched and wants to atleast have a placeholder website to show to customers. This is also a crucial factor in determining the long term goal of the website and how you would like to keep evolving your online strategy.

Independence

A very major factor in deciding your design option is whom you are dealing with. Many designers consider themselves to be at par with Picasso and Michelangelo. This means that you may have a tough time in getting them to do things in a time-bound or disciplined way. Almost all design firms that we have dealt with have overshot their promised timeline and taken more than double the time to do the work correctly. While a bit of creativity should be left to the discretion of the design studio, it should also be clearly agreed that time is of essence and that a delay in work can be costly. Some businesses have taken years on end just to get the first glimpse of their website live. By that time their funds were drained and they had lost a considerable amount of revenue from online sources. On the other hand, templates allow you to go to any designer or coder to alter the design. Some websites even offer their own customization service. The bottom line being that your design source is
with you and you are not locked into the services of a particular firm of developers.
Customization

Although a template can hardly be tweaked to suit your corporate branding, you can make a lot of changes to make it look more personalized. Just like you can get a readymade shirt altered to suit your size, you can get a ready website also tweaked and twisted to give it a better look. It may look clumsy and a bit out of place, it may even look very cliche and standard, but for the price it is definitely a good deal.
